Just before New Years there was this huge controversy on the Thai media about an annual calendar that a Thai beer company Leo (whose parent company Singha) put out. The calendar was created by no other than Thai supermodel, Metinee Kingpayom. I love how the argument against the calendar says that “linking alcohol and sexy women is wrong”. Wow.

Anyway, who cares about the legal issues behind it. The women are wearing next to nothing and yes, that is body paint that you’re seeing on Anna, Pam and Aum. And if you guys remember, from back in the day, the calendar also features Jenjira “Mix” Kerdprasop, the sassy Thai/Swedish archery expert.

Aimee Morakot Kittisara former Miss Thailand Universe

Currently there is still huge debate all over the news and online about how 2009′s Miss Thailand Universe was chosen. Was it because it was rigged? Was it because they stared at her breasts? Whatever. I’m taking you back to 2004 when Morakot Kittisara was crowned, and rightly so.

Anyway, she disappeared. Like most hot Thai girls do. Probably getting courted by politicians or spoilt rich kids that drive around in Lamborghini’s to go to uni. And now she’s back. Baring more skin. Gosh, don’t you just love progress?

I don’t know weather to laugh or applaud this, so it’s up to you guys to decide. I think they are trying to pull off that whole sexy Samurai that Miss Japan did a few years back. I dunno if it is going to work with this “Spirit of Fighting” Muay Thai national costume.
Whatever the outcome is though, everyone is a winner, because we all get to have a glimpse at what the other countries will have to offer. At least we know she’ll beat Miss Korea. Giggles…

I have no idea what the hell this pageant is about, nor do I really care. Although I should, as I work in the hospitality industry, although this pageant is basically worthless. Anyway, we have a beauty representing Thailand. Her name’s Wassana Wongbutree, at least that’s how I think you spell it in English. So, as you can probably see from the images, she got first runner up. Whoopee right? But that was from over 108 contestants, so give her some golf applause please!

I guess Farong Yuttitham – Miss Thailand did her best. She managed to get to the final 15, which is… great…? I think next time, Thailand should cheat, like Norway tried. How they take a Eurasian to represent the country.

Anyways, I give major props to Rachel Smith after all those ignorant Mexican fans booing her and taking that slip on stage. I was rooting for her too, her and Honey Lee. But I think Miss Japan Riyo Mori deserves it as well.

Poor Miss USA taking the plunge and getting up quickly.

And naturally, she is half Thai. She was crowned Miss Norway Universe in 2005. It seems that the hotness genes ran through form her mum Porntip Nakhirunkanok who was crowned Miss Universe back in 1988. This girl literally is a small town girl and is not a Bangkokian nor does she live in a big city in Norway. It musta been cool for her in 2005, since the Miss Universe Pageant was held in Thailand that year. Two birds with one stone hmm.

Jenjira Kerdprasop – Miss Thailand World 2003

She’s half Swedish and competed with both the Thai and Swedish National Teams before. So watch out! Mhmmm, Asian – European girl… She’s also used to be a figure skater. If you’re lucky enough to be in Bangkok you can pop over to her teaching grounds at the Mix Archery Club where she has no trouble giving tips on how to get a better aim. Anyway, there isn’t enough images of her about and I can’t find a magazine with her in it around here. So you’ll have to make do.
